Get ready to “Believe.” Common premiered the title track from his upcoming album The Believer, the follow-up to 2008’s Universal Mind Control, during a recent show in Honolulu, Hawaii. Rapping over a bare piano melody and vocal sample, the Chicago rapper rides the rhythm while branding himself a hopeful mind. “These are the words of a believer, achiever, leader of the globe/ Free the souls of those in need/ I bleed the blood of the struggle walkin’ over troubled puddles,” spits the conscious MC.
